Franklin Veterinary clinic Dan Castillo Animal Dr

Dr Daniel Castillo - Owner

Owner and operator of the clinic, Dr. Castillo and his family have made Franklin their home since 1996. Dr. Castillo's special interest is small animal medicine and surgery. While  very much involved in community affairs and international relief work, his proudest moment as a vet was working with the search and rescue dogs at Ground Zero following the 9 / 11 tragedy.

Dr Sara Gray - Veterinarian

While studying for her veterinary degree from North Carolina State University, Dr. Gray participated in the Merck-Medial Veterinary Research Program. Her research on Tritrichomonas Foetus (a parasite in cats), was recently published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research.

Dr Jeffrey Wesley - Veterinarian

A local native, Dr. Wesley received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Rhode Island. In 2005, he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. While primarily practicing small animal medicine and surgery, he also has a special interest in working with llamas and alpacas.

Dr Meaghan Farnam - Veterinarian

Dr Meaghan Farnam grew up in Mendon, Ma. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts, West Indies and completed her clinical studies at cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Her areas of interest include behavior, internal medicine and dermatology. When not working Dr Farnam's interests include Martial Arts,The New England Patriots and spending time with her family and friends. She currently lives in Medway with her husband, 2 cats and a dog.

Cathy Krim - Receptionist/Office Manager

Cathy has worked at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic for 14 years. She started as a part-time Receptionist in 2001 and liked it so much she left her previous job of 16 years and came on board! She loves animals of all kinds and has owned 3 Labrador Retrievers, 2 cats and a parakeet over the past 21 years. She is now a weekend puppy Raiser for the NEADS Service Dog program. Just recently she started working with a new NEADS puppy named "Franklin"!! Cathy is married with a son and a daughter who have given her 3 beautiful grandchildren that she adores.

Loren Day - Certified Veterinary Technician

Loren has worked in the veterinary field for 20 years and has been employed as a certified veterinary technician at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic for the past 15 years. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in social work at Simmons College .  Loren and her husband have three boys who keep them busy along with 3 dogs, Cindy Lou and Nelson and a Puppy (no name yet! brought back from a spay/neuter clinic on the Island of Virgin Gorda), Also two cats, Weeble and Wobble. In her spare time Loren stays physically active by running, biking and doing CrossFit.

Pamela Gauntlett - Receptionist/Bookkeeper

Pam has worked at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic for 14 years. She left her job as a Financial Analyst to work here as a Receptionist and also took on the role of bookkeeper when Dr. Castillo took ownership of the practice in 2002. Pam is married with a son and daughter who keep her very busy. She is an active volunteer at her children's school and also serves as the PTO treasurer. Her family has had a dog and 2 cats, but just recently welcomed a new addition to the family...a sweet cat named "Sully"!

Nichole Devries - Veterinary Technician

Nichole started her employment at Franklin Veterinary Clinic in 2003. Nichole graduated from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in 2004 with a CNA degree.  In her spare time she enjoys making crafts that she sells to benefit charities such as Autism Awareness and Project Samana. Nichole has a cat named Milan that she adopted from Franklin Veterinary Clinic.

Tom Mulvaney,Certified Veterinary Technician

Tom is a native of Franklin. He graduated from Becker College in 2010 with degrees in Veterinary Technology and Veterinary Science. He passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam, and is a certified technician. He has always had a love for all animals with a special interest in reptiles. He has experience with Wildlife after volunteering at the Eco-Tarium where he worked with exotic species and even helped train a polar bear. He has worked at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic since 2010. He is an animal care-taker & pet-sitter with 10 + yrs experience. He currently has reptiles and a beloved dachshund for pets. In his spare time he enjoys being around his friends and family, keeping active, walking dogs, but also enjoys relaxing and watching TV.

Jamie Kalalas - Veterinay Technician

Jamie Kalalas has been working at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic since the fall of 2011. She has over 8 years in the industry working with both large and small animals. Before joining our practice, she began her career as a veterinary technician working for a Sports Medicine Equine practice following her studies at the University of Rhode Island. In June 2014, Dr. Castillo sent her to represent our practice in Samana, Dominican Republic as part of a 9 person team bringing veterinary care to small and large animals. Project Samana is an MVMA accredited charity organization making trips biannually (both spring and fall) for the better part of the past 20 years.

Jamie has 3 Labrador Retrievers: 2 yellow, Hercules who is 14, Wendy who is 7 and Bruce her 10 month old black Labrador puppy! She is also currently completing her International Yoga teacher certificate.

Suzie - Veterinary Technician

Suzie has been a part of the Franklin Veterinary Clinic family since 2012. Originally from Western Mass, she has also lived and worked in Vermont for many years. Passionate about animals her whole life, she has been in the veterinary field since 2007. Her proudest moment as a technician was traveling to Samana, Dominican Republic to be a part of providing much needed veterinary care and surgery to residents of the peninsula.
Suzie lives in the area with her cat Amelia, and recent addition Lucy, a Treeing Walker Coonhound (both adopted from shelters). In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dog, playing volleyball, and kayaking.

Lisa Delorme - Veterinary Technician

Lisa is a native of Franklin and is a recent addition to the Franklin Veterinary Clinic as of spring (2015). She Graduated in May 2015 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst; earning a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. While at college, she spent much of her time managing large animals such as cows, horses, sheep, and goats.
She enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She owns a young Border collie mix named Petey, a cat named Cassie, and a turtle named Ernie.
